Dealer admits supplying fentanyl in overdose death of 22-year-old woman: Philip Eldred was one of 10 people who worked for George Stokes, who is accused of running a drug ring in Atlantic County A New Jersey man admitted Tuesday he supplied the fentanyl that led to the overdose death of a 22-year-old woman last year. Philip Eldred, 30, of Egg Harbor Township pleaded guilty to strict liability in a drug induced death, operating a drug manufacturing facility and unlawful possession of a handgun, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's office said. Eldred and nine others were indicted earlier this year on charges they worked for alleged drug dealer George Stokes, who is accused of selling fentanyl that led to the deaths of three people. Eldred was convicted in the death of Caroline Boothby, who died on Aug. 2, 2017 at her home in Margate. Authorities say Stokes maintained drug manufacturing facilities in Atlantic City and Hamilton Township where drugs, including heroin and fentanyl, were produced and packaged. Stokes was indicted in February on 29 charges including three counts of strict liability in the drug induced deaths of Boothy as well as Hector Santos, 29 and William S. Ang, 33.
